ARches National Park

Hiking in Arches is 1part trails &3parts exploration on 'primitive' paths. You never know what's coming next or which way the path is going to twist. Here most of the rocks have been puched vertical into a maze of fins that the paths wind up over &in between. Arches form regularly but in unpredictable places. Each one is unique in shape, location &view. So far I have liked them all, but can't remember the name of my favorite tucked high among the fins overlooking an expansive valley. We took a guided tour thru the Fiery Furnace a maze of passages &canyoneering. It is hot here so we are making the most of early& late hours with breaks & cold beers in between. This is an after dinner photo at sand arch (I HATE hiking in sand!) We are also visiting nearby Canyonlands National Park which is high plateaus cut by the Colorado &some other river -similar to the Grand Canyon just much wider.
