inquiring minds (double take)

i wrote this during lunch. and auto draft save did not save it when the stupid firewall thing came up bc my session had timed out. grrr...

so i had a date on sunday. witha nice boy. a dorky boy. he looks like his photo - which was pleasantly surprising. he was on time. i was early and nervously watching the sort of ugly boy sitting next to the door to the gellato place in an obama shirt that sort of looked like the boy i had never met and wondering if it was him. the ugly boy didnt seem to be paying attention to me so if no one better looking came along i was just going to walk away and go home. shallow. but true.

there were obama fanatics everywhere and i even had my photo taken with him (a cardboard cut out). i collected soem propoganda for the civics teachers and proclaimed i lived to far from the metropolis of cville to volunteer on the campaign. obama fanatics are weirder than ron paul fanatics in my opinion.

so about the boy. he is an electrical engineering phd student (yes sort of pasty white with glasses - sits in front of a computer...). he was taller than expected sort of 6 3ish (tall enough to have to duck places) and has a cute lopsided sideways smile. we got some gellato or gelatto hmmm and sat and talked for a while and then a bug attacked him (which was funny) so we walked around and walked around and walked around. we decided to get soup for dinner except they were closed and then he decided on somewhere else and it was closed. so we had really awesome pizza. then we walked around some more and some more and some more and got ice cream and then i decided it was time for me to come home bc i was tired and i had school today. he gave me a goodnight kiss which was cute and totally awkward (and also typical of my luck totally awful... sigh.) and we decided that we would meet again sometime soon (date undetermined).

alright carol and all other nosy people... parents still live in ohio where he grew up. he did undergrad in ohio and came here bc they offered him money. he has one younger brother. his favorite vegetable is onions. he hates carrots. favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip or chocolate chip (which until kelley told me i would not have imagined as an ice cream flavor). he was on the two time nationally winning college dodgeball team. he currently plays waterpolo - for intramurals so not quite the hard core sport i was imagining bc they play with their butts in intertubes. hilarious. he reads a lot of books that i have never heard of. he only has one belt which is black which does not match his nice brown shoes. he ironed the shirt that he was wearing. he is a night owl and woke up at 1. and goes to bed way later than i can stay up. ummm... that's all i can remember.

so he is a nice guy. think i am going to try to get to know him better. later this week i have a date with my ex-fiance adam. :) and then maybe plans with this guy over the weekend.
