This morning Mel and I had breakfast on the beach - hot bagels and yogurt. It was sunny and not too cold so we sat on a blanket and watched the waves and the lone surfer.
Then we headed up island to see Josh and his family. We had second breakfast and coffee, admired Josh's vegetable garden, and shared photos (me travel ones - and them Michelle's babies). Then we stopped in to see Laurie. She may be married now, but they are leaving on their honeymoon on Tuesday. We realized that she was probably super busy and had a million things to do. We offered to sit on the couch and chat with her while she packed, but Sean insisted that we take her out of the house, so we went to the diner to have lunch. Seriously, diners on Long Island are the best and they are simply not the same anywhere else. Just like bagels - they are ok other places, but not as awesome as they are on Long Island.
On the way home, Mel was having chocolate craving so we stopped at a grocery store to get some cookies. Well no chocolate chips to be had, except for the fresh baked ones. The clerk actually said, "They're still warm, is that ok?" Seriously? We ran back into the dairy section to get some milk and then had a scrumptious snack on the way back to Kate's. She's planned another fun dinner and evening for us.
Tomorrow we are going to say hi to Montauk and then head back towards the city and home.
