do we really look that much alike?

i went with public defender kelley to work today and got to see her in action in the trailer park of justice and in the courtroom. i also got a good look at her clients. it was interesting to see just what kelley does... and i am glad that i do not have to do it. but she likes it and that is all that matters. it is really funny to just sit and listen to the secretaries talking about the paperwork and people who just phoned in. i spent most of the day trying to stay out of the way and reading travel books.

do kelley and i (or karrie) really look alike? I don't see it, but all the time people are saying they see the resemblance. when we tell others that we are sisters, we get comments like 'i was wondering if you were twins,' 'duh,' you sound alike,' you look so much alike,' etc. i know that we all sound the same on the phone from personal experience but when i look at photos of me with my sisters, i see some resemblance but not a lot. maybe that is how everyone feels about their siblings. one thing i think is funny is everyone thinks that kelley is older than me. course, today she looked professional while i was in jeans and a sweater.

in the afternoon i went to montezuma's castle and montezuma's well. these places are from the singua people (not the aztecs as they are named) and are mud-brick structures built into cliffsides. these people disappeared mysteriously and left behind no written records - just cliff dwellings. (they got eaten to extinction by the desert sasquatches - i mean why else would they build such inaccessible fortresses?)

i then rejoined kelley to run errands, dig out my car, re-shovel the driveway, get dinner, do facials, and for me to pack my things. kelley was really nice and made me sandwiches in between watching futurama. tomorrow i am off to the grand canyon with a hike down on wednesday and a hike up on thursday.

  1. you certainly didn't even look related when you were young...but, yes, you do look more and more alike...all 3 of you, as time passes.

and, face it kim, you will always be mistaken for the youngest! SOMEDAY...you will appreciate that, and i doubt that today it bothers you at all...but i do remember a time when it did! tee-hee (gotta go back a few years for that one!)

  2. Im sorry but I dont think you three look alike at all except for your smiles, and we used the same orthodontist, so why not? My opinion is also influenced by knowinghow very different you are on the inside. Oh well, at least you dont resemble some loser or crackhead.

  3. no conclusions drawn from getting a good look at my clients?

thanks kim for your very generous comment about me making sandwiches during the commercials of futurama :) i know i'm not a good hostess, but it was fun to have you here! and now you are my witness that prescott is a lot snowy and a little bit miserable sometimes.

  4. Kim, I suggest putting a poll on your blog, with a picture of you and your sisters, so people can rate the similarity... I would like to see a photo of all of you together.
    Cheers,
    Sarah Ann

  6. nice how dad used the word crackhead. haha. I think maybe if you meshed my huge features with your tiny ones, we may equal kelley.
