i am so freaking mad. my plane boarded late in auckland so i went to go get a cup of coffee for the flight. when i came back to get on the plane they told me i was not allowed to take a hot beverage on the plane. i asked her, 'are you serious?' she was. RIDICULOUS. i didnt even take a sip - though she encouraged me to sit (and make the plane late) and drink some, but it was too hot so i tossed it (in the trash can clearly labeled 'no spitting')
i arrived in sydney no problem and took some nice photos of syndey harbor from the plane window. no problem with customs and when i got in the line for quarantine it was so long it wound around the baggage claim. someone came out and was apparently mad about the line and started working from the end - yay me. in and out. i met a nice lady who told me about trains and what station to take and off i went.
made it to the pink house on camden and met pen and matilda the rabbit and had a cup of coffee. pen decided she wanted to be touristy with me and i got a personal tour. we went and saw the opera house and then went and climber the pylon of the syndey harbor bridge to admire the view. we got detoured in the 'rocks' on the way and i had my first kebab (which is a sandwich - not meat on a stick) and it was delicious. we toured the botanical gardens and an art museum and then looked at some touristy areas - the QVB and then Darling Harbour. then we went out for a beer at a pub and came home to make KANGAROO burgers! yum. they were delicious.
tomorrow the zoo and touring by ferries and who knows what else.

it is just a cup of coffee...there will be many more. can you send some kangaroo burgers home? it would make the newspaper!
ReplyDeleteha mom, our whole lives would make the newspaper.
ReplyDeletedon't forget to let your negative energy out of your RIGHT hand into a tree every once in a while. all you have to do is focus. it's better than giving yourself a brain herniation (which huy and i saw on TV and it was NOT pretty) over stupid airline rules.
A rabbit, how exciting! How did the 'roo burgers taste? Were they better than beef? Kelley is right about the negative energy...just shake it out!
ReplyDeleteI think I would eat lots of meat if it came from wallabees and kangaroos!
ReplyDeletedianna says scary climbing that bridge...have you done the one in san fran...or can you do it there? can't wait to see the pics...keep having fun!
