tidepools with wang

while my hometown was experiencing a snow day complete with going home early, i was out in the sunshine scrambling over rocks adn through tunnels playing in the tidepools with wang. wang told me to be on the lookout for sea hares (like sea slugs but not poisonous) and i successfully found two. the first one i found was HUGE - bigger than a bratwurst and purple and slimy. we moved him to a bigger tidepool and he unfolded and started sliming around eating algae. i also found a keyhole limpet that was elongated and as long as a dollar bill. i have never seen one that big before - the biggest i have seen previously was the size of a fifty cent piece.

i also saw chitons, hermit crabs, a rock crab, volcano limpets, dolphins, a sea lion, tons of barnacles and three different kinds of mussels. tidepooling was followed by a gourmet lunch prepared by wang - chicken soup and bean salad yum.

this evening i am supposed to accompany taylor (f) in the field to be a kangaroo rat field biologist. interesting. but much to my amusement, wang and taylor are running around in their bootie bike shorts and playing on their new road bikes... so we shall see.
