moving fiascoes

i know how to spell the plural of fiasco because of the email i just wrote to my professor (blackboard is down so i cannot post my final exam which is due tonight).

so it snowed all day saturday. all day. and cold wet yucky snow. mom, rich, and i still got the trailer loaded. the parade still happened though it was severely reduced. chrissy and ryan made it here and were a big help in the final pack of all the stuff in my room.

sunday was sunny and cold, but sunny. i packed the rest of the trailer and made some muffins before chrissy and ryan were up. they helped me pack the rest of my car and we positioned cars for the arrival of the trucks to move furniture.

Dan and Shannon and John arrived with trucks, couches were moved around and loaded, the trailer hitched, and the caravan of vehicles was off. The arrival was anticlimatic however because the lock no longer worked and I could not get into my apartment. A call to the landlord was unanswered so I called a locksmith who drilled my brandnew 'smart' lock apart and opened the door.
As soon as it was opened everyone started moving stuff upstairs (while I mostly dealt with the locksmith). Everything was moved and i just have too much stuff. Here is the living room before and after. More pics to come. I am going home. I have been trying for 45 min to get blackboard to work and its not. so i emailed my paper directly to the professor and I am going home to eat cookies.

  1. hey..it went smoothly enough. you have made lots of progress...and it isn't something that happens overnight. breathe...and it will all come together eventually. it just takes time. the house you left behind doesn't look much better :-)

  4. It was a great move, even with all the 'hiccups' that occured! At least no trees fell onto your truck and trailer smashing them flatter than a Northern's biscuit.

Your apartment is AMAZING even with boxes stacked everywhere. We can't wait to come and see it when you're all done. =)
