yesterday while i was running a man in a pickup slowed down, rolled down his window and asked me if I had lost any weight. i said yes, about ten pounds. he told me, "good for you. i thought you'd looked like you had lost some weight. do you know i lost thirty one pounds just by quitting soda and drinking water instead?" good for him (he could stll stand to lose some more, but even a little helps anyone.
i dont know who this man is, but he must pass me a lot... or want to compliment a hot sweaty girl. i thanked him and we carried on our separate ways.

nothing like living in cuckoo! country living at it's best!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteOnly in the rural South...
Ryan and I have noticed that living in the South again (and somewhat rural)...
1. we can talk to people in line (and they'll talk back)
2. People drive at or under the speed limit
3. They put mayo on their sandwiches and bacon on their salads
4. and....here's the big one! People are nice, friendly, and honestly interested in helping you. We talked with our big box store deliverly men for 20 minutes about what it's like to live here in Asheville. The weather, schools, neighborhoods, and daily life. It was awesome.
Now, I only have to become accustomed to the accents and not let them fool me into false ideas. =)
lots of friendly people on cuckoo road. sometimes people would offer me rides ... ummmm, is it not obvious i'm out here for exercise purposes?!
ReplyDeletegood job kim, keep it up! the fat guy in the pick-up is counting on you!
