berries and boys

it occured to me as i was flipping through my camera that i never wrote about going to the berry farm with mom, James, and Karrie. what i remember most is wondering how in the heck mom and i were going to eat all those berries we picked. i froze some of them, but we just finished the unfrozen ones the other day and the were soooooo yummy. the other thing that was memorable was eating a strawberry shortcake combo (warm shortcake, strawberries, ice cream, and whipped cream) after getting all hot and sweaty in the sunshine picking berries. it was so delicious, i had two! I insisted that we take this photo - I love head-poke-through-things. :) Other photos are on the slideshow to the right and picasa for you to enjoy.

i went on a date with another boy yesterday. we would have gone out sooner, but according to him we had to speak on the phone before we met in person, and well it took me a while to get to that. i hate talking on the phone and he is really not that great at it either. well i would not have recognized him if we had not been communicating on the phone when he drove up. he looks vaguely like the photo i saw, but i am thinking of that country song - i am cooler on mysspace. he is a nice person, just not the person for me. plus i get the gist from him that he only listens to about 70% of what I say and then tries to bring it up later in conversation and I had to correct him and say, no i said... so i am going to keep looking. interestingly enough, the other boys that i met in person emailed me for a while and have both stopped. i sent the last emails, but i am not going to be overly annoying.

looks like banana splits will be solo this week - and it will be for lunch. i am attending a literacy and science conference this week (yes, in fact, it is as boring as it sounds (so far). i am using the time to actually look at what teaching 8th grade encompasses and starting to plan some curriculum. luckily for me there is a lot of overlap with chemistry... now all i need to do is learn physics (a class i have avoided like the plague)). anyway, i am attending this conference and spending some QT with Dad so I don't have to drive as far, and so I can eat some fabulous home cooked meatloaf. Plus I like hanging out with him. And he has fast internet.

  1. yes...they were yummy...and such a treat.

also...when holidays fall in there...sometimes that messes up the emailing...if you are interested, you might try one more time.
