a good cup of coffee

the coffee here sucks. i take that back - the coffee here is not american coffee and it is all espresso or instant and it is either too weak or tastes burnt.

plus they have weird names. usually i order a flat white - coffee and milk but it is usually burnt tasting and a little too much milk. i have recently found out it is 2/3 milk.

so then i tried a long black which has no milk and still tastes burnt. a nice lady told me what i probably wanted was a double shot flat white which is 2/3 coffee and and 1/3 milk. that is better, but still not what i want.

i actually find the instant coffee more enjoyable. the problem is that it is all espresso and not drip filter percolated coffee that i am used to.

i do however enjoy the iced coffee they sell - which incidentally is not ice coffee but like chocolate milk - only coffee flavored. it is pretty popular here bc there are at least four different brands.

it is good but still not as good as being home, sitting on the back porch, with a hot cup of coffee, clothing optional, listening to the birds, frogs, and fountains.
