Steve's house is the coolest with lots of nifty furniture and lots of rock and roll artwork. You can tell that Steve is into music.
Steve is an engineer who is going back to school and runs a tye dye business on the side. His tye dye work is fabulous.
Steve took us to the Mellow Mushroom for pizza for dinner because I had never been there. We found a beer we could agree on and ordered a pitcher and couple of veggie and mushroom pies. Steve knew a lot of the staff there and some of the other patrons.
On the way down the street, we passed more people Steve knew. At our next stop, the Hair of the Dog Pub, Steve knew even more people. And these people are all interesting cool folks. Jen our waitress is a good pal of Steve's and she scored us some raffle tickets for Bonnaroo, a huge music festival in Middle of Nowhere Tennessee, which is next week. Jen told us that almost no one is in the drawing (you have to order like 24oz cans of budweiser), and we are hopeful that we might score tickets. It would shift the plans, but who cares!
Tonight starts Riverbend a music festival here in Chattanooga. Steve, always the music afficonado, is scoring us passes to go see some local bands and Willie Nelson. Scoring us passes involves some fabrication and art projects. Lauren and I are having fun helping. And we will have fun at the festival tonight.
Today was a low key day that involved the Chattanooga Aquarium, a 3D ocean imax, Hobby Lobby for art supplies, McKay's Used Books, and a thrift store to score some tye-dyeable cloth.
We are hopefully staying tomorrow night to see Train and some other band related to the String-Cheese Incident, so more time to explore Chattanooga - a town so far, we really like.
